Strom, a grandson of Western Exterminator Company's founder, Carl Strom, has been involved with the pest control industry his entire life. He started working for Western in the 1970's while still in high school, painting the Little Man statues that are seen on the backs of company vehicles. After graduation, he began working full time in the Wood Destroying Organisms department, held a variety of positions and later with cousin, Richard Coleson, headed up a Western subsidiary company which performed structural fumigations. Since 2000, he has focused his energies in the Commercial Division and in 2007 was elected to the Board of Directors. In 2008, Strom succeeded his father, Western's Executive Vice President Robert J. Strom, as the California licensee for Western's operating license in the fields of general pest control and wood destroying organisms.
